#Bernie2020 #PresidentSanders - my 2020 pro-Bernie rant

I've been typing these hashtags for so long now.

Was hoping we'd see Trump jailed for being a traitor, violating his oath to uphold the Constitution, misuse of power, bribery, violating emoluments clause, being unfit for office - lying, racism, sexism, and asking foreign countries to intervene in elections.
What other people might've done hidden behind doors, Trump is so ballsy (or is it stupid?) to do in front of the world.  He worships dictators, constantly calls out to racist cabals and people with guns to "get ready", and he continually proves himself to be lacking required character of anyone except a villain.
Trump is a supervillain unlike anyone we've seen in the modern era.  He's got the potential of Hitler, Stalin, and similar.  Hopefully he fails miserably because he was spoiled & never got a work ethic.

On to Bernie.

This is my 2nd time to be able to vote for a candidate the represents me and my world views.  I want tax money to help everyone.  I want medical coverage for all, like other (so called) '1st world' countries.  I want free college.  I want to end the student debt oppression.  I want to see equality in the financial world.
Most importantly, I do really believe that the 1% are disrupting the proper functioning of the global economies.  The 1% are like bloodclots, or chi that pools up and goes sour.  Having super-rich doesn't make any aspect of society better.
But sharing opportunities and wealth could change our society so radically that we could improve all aspects in 100 years.  If we had 100 Einsteins who were empowered by the society, what would that be like?  But instead, we have tons of people with potential who live their lives under attack by a ton of factors -- poverty, race, social oppression, sexism -- so not only do we miss out on their potential, but we miss out on even just their stunted potential.  It's a crime against our potential.

And also the environment.
We must start to cherish our world as a global value, regardless of culture or religion or profits lost.  Humanity (and the other Earthlings) can no longer afford to allow short sighted industry to destroy essential parts of the Earth to extract profits.  Industry needs to change, so that profits are beneficial to the planet at all stages of creation (and distribution).

We live on a planet that could sustain life as we know it for billions of years.  But the actions of humanity are undercutting our sustained existence, so severely that we may be creating our own extinction within the next 100 years.  What sane person can advocate for this type of disruption of human existence?

There are better ways for humanity to evolve than destroying ourselves & imagining what comes next (we won't be around to see).

Bernie is that path for USA.  Bernie fills me with joy and excitement, makes me happy for the potential in humanity.  Yes, I'll take (almost) anyone but Trump, but I'd rather take the most exciting leader I've ever seen take the steering wheel and pull us back from the abyss.

Blame the Taxes, Blame the Govt, but don't take responsibilty? Nah

Got an email (below) which inspired a response.  The response comes first, then the email.

Friends,

Basically I'm ok with taxes. I don't love them, but ... It's the fact we spend more than 1/2 on wars and violence that hurts. And the fact that the USA spends more on our military than *all* countries on Earth combined should have all of us concerned.

If tax money was required to be spent on social programs (include Medicare & social security) & public works, and not on all the fantastical corporate subsidies and 'incentives' for corporations to employ us, and all those guns/missiles/nukes/bombs manufacturers getting public funding, I doubt most folks would be upset about taxes.

The issue is not taxes. The issue is what the govt spends our tax money on.

> Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.

No. We are all in this together. If our leadership is sinking the ship, do you blame the captain as the ship sinks, or do you say "we need a new captain, the ship is sinking" and take action?

We are adults in 2011. If the middle east can get rid of their corrupt regimes, if the former colonies can shake off their foreign enslavement, can't we do something about our situation?

Martin Luther King Jr and Gandhi both explain the process clearly.

Peace & Love,

USA -- truths hurt, and torture isn´t over yet

General stuff:
Just found this story about 25 murdered and 100 dead from US military detentions. Well, I think many Americans (especially Jewish Americans) already see this as the signs of another genocide, but are people REALLY so surprised to hear the facts coming out?

Remember those nasty photos that were leaked about Abu Ghraib?? Well, those were supposed to be ´spin´ pics that make things look not so bad!!! New reports (this from Amnesty International) include torture of children, genital electric shocks, and rape and violence towards family members in front of the families.

Here´s an account of a Sheikh who was tortured once by Saddam and once by US Soldiers. The story includes his wife and child being beaten while he was submitting to capture to US troops. Then he was beaten in front of his family. It´s truly and deeply frightening.

The overall arc of G.Bush Jr´s style runs quite similarly to Hitler. The only areas lacking are multiple front wars, although while the USA has a ´hot´ war with Iraq, we do also have ongoing ´secret´ wars in S.Amer and C.America. Plus the secret missions going on against Venezuela, and the ongoing drug war in Venezuela.

I think the body count is how most people identify Hitler´s horrible regime. Even as Bush hits over 1 million dead due to his policies, people defend him by saying "Americans did not kill those people". So I agree, Bush has not set up death camps that have a body count in the millions. However, he has set up torture camps, and has set up a system that is now in place to deport people to those camps without having any legal protections.

People say Bush will soon no longer be President. I certainly hope so. However, I hope we all realize there are now laws in place that will allow him to stay in office and suspend US Govt in the event of a major US emergency. There are also laws allowing him to have a private military force inside the USA (Blackwater) equipped with the most hightech weapons and immune from US Courts.

There are also many people who believe Bush´s regime had something to do with 9/11. What would stop Bush, or a secret US military group, from doing another major counter-USA action, in order to keep Bush in office indefinitely?

We need more truths to come out. Scott McLellan is not the truth!! He soft pedals on all the hot issues. Don´t trust him for a second. But when other people start to spill, like the insiders involved in 9/11, or senior Bush staffers ... then the US compromised corporate media will be actively shutting them down.

Bottom line -- behind everything is a unity between corporate power, old wealth, military, and executives in govt. Speaking truth to these monstrous entities is not an easy task.

But we have to do it. People of the USA, North Americans, we have to demand that this war end, that torture stop, and that the criminals behind these atrocities be forced to pay the price.

Having that truth spread out around the world, well, very few do that. Thanks Amy Goodman & Democracy Now! Thanks Dennis Kucinich for trying to get that impeachment through!
